Conference Room Reservation

  • Our rooms are reserved primarily for our Faculty and Student Group Meetings, Defenses & Talks. Other than standing reservations, scheduling is on a first come first served basis, with the reservation information kept online at JFI's website.

    The James Franck Institute has several Conference Rooms available for group meetings, talks, or other work related gatherings.


    JFI GCIS East Conference Rooms

    In the Gordon Center for Integrative Science East Wing we maintain the following Conference Rooms with the following Specs:
    GCIS East Wing Conference Rooms at 929 E 57th St.:
    • GCIS-E123: capacity of 25 people, boardroom style seating, w/ mounted LCD Projector, a large pull down screen, & a moveable Chalk Board. No White Board.
    • GCIS-E223: capacity of 25 people, boardroom style seating, w/ mounted LCD Projector & a large pull down screen. No White or Chalk Board.
    • GCIS-EB041: capacity of 25 people, boardroom style seating, w/ White Board & pull down screen. No LCD Projector.
    • GCIS-ESB36: capacity of 25 people, boardroom style seating, w/ White Board & pull down screen. No LCD Projector.

    GCIS East Equipment and Connections: Each conference room is equipped with a network connection & a pull down screen.  Only GCIS E123 & E223 have LCD Projectors installed, both with standard input & output computer connections. If a projector malfunctions or you need a replacement bulb, please contact John at jn-phillips@uchicago.edu, 2-9744, GCIS E145 or Jim Passolano at 2-7824, RI 169.



    Scheduling - JFI Meeting Rooms:
    For Your viewing and scheduling convenience, the JFI Meeting Rooms for GCIS E123, E223, EB041, and ESB36 are available online for viewing meeting schedules at
    https://meetingrooms.uchicago.edu.

    Other than standing reservations, scheduling is on a first come first serve basis, with the reservation information kept online at JFI's website.

    Maintenance Regulation & Service Fee Disclaimer: We ask that you clean and return the room back to its original set up after your meeting.
    Effective April 1, 2004: A Service Fee will be charged to your department if the conference room is left in disarray after your meeting (This means garbage removal & chairs & tables returned to original seminar seating.).

    GCIS West Conference Rooms

    GCIS West Wing Conference Rooms:
    To inquire, see & reserve space in the West Wing Conference Rooms please contact:
    Melissa Najera at 773-834-2887, mnajera@bsd.uchicago.edu of the BSD Building Managment Office.

    They offer several conference rooms of varying sizes that are available for seminar talks, group meetings, & other work-related gatherings. Other than standing reservations, scheduling is on a first come first served basis. The seating styles for the following rooms are adjustable per your request with Melissa. They include:

    • GCIS-W301: capacity of 60-80 people, seating style your choice; w/mounted LCD Projector, pull down screen & White board.
    • GCIS-W303: capacity of 20-25 people, seating style your choice; w/mounted LCD Projector, pull down screen, & White board.
    • GCIS-W301/303 combined: capacity 120 people, seating style lecture hall or your choice; w/mounted LCD Projector, pull down screen, White board & Kitchenette
    • GCIS-W400 A & B: capacity of 15-25 people each, No LCD Projector.
    • GCIS-W500 A & B: capacity of 15-25 people each, No LCD Projector.

    EFI RI Conference Rooms

    The EFI maintained RI Conference Rooms:
    To inquire, see & reserve space in the EFI maintained RI Conference Rooms please go to the EFI website for both RI-180 and RI-480 at
    http://efi.uchicago.edu/events/reserveroom.shtml

    They offer two conference rooms of varying sizes that are available for seminar talks, group meetings, & other work-related gatherings.

    • RI-180: capacity of 30 people, lecture hall style seating, and key available in EFI Directors Office: RI 183 (EFI)
    • RI-480: capacity of 150 people, lecture hall style seating, and key available in EFI Directors Office: RI 183 (EFI)

    Equipment and Connections: RI 180 & RI 480 are each equipped with a network connection, standard overhead projectors, pull down screens, and a Digital LCD Projector with standard input & output computer connections. If a projector malfunctions or you need a replacement bulb, please contact Dennis Hannum at dhannum@uchicago.edu.

    Scheduling: Other than standing reservations, scheduling is on a first come first served basis, with the reservation information kept online at EFI's website. You may now enter your own meetings and events through the website for both the RI-180 and RI-480 conference rooms. Go to: http://efi.uchicago.edu/events/reserveroom.shtml.
