  • 6/25/08 Four UChicago students reach Santiago
      "We're all safe in Chile, having a great time..." With this email we've learned that the first four University of Chicago students have arrived in Chile and have found an apartment. They have met with the co-ordinator for English language conversation classes. A fifth student will do his internship this fall.
  • 6/16/08 Renewed NSF support.
      It's official. The National Science Foundation has renewed support for the Chicago-Chile Materials Collaboration for another four years at the requested level.
  • 4/15/08 Chicago-Chile paper accepted in Science
      This paper on the wrinkle-to-fold transition of thin sheets on a liquid surface begun as the internship project of Luka Pocivavsek with Prof. Cerda in Chile. It developed further in the group of Prof. Lee on Luka's return to Chicago. Congratulations, folks!
