the picture of the contact force network before and after the cyclic force were compared pixel by pixel. For pixels where the color was unchanged, a black pixel was put on the difference image. Yellow pixels occur where one image had a blue pixel and the other had a white one. cyan and magenta pixels seem to occur where one of the images had a green pixel: an arched contact.
