This phone is basically a speakerphone with better than usual sound. It permits clear, transparent conversation between a remote correspondent and several people in a local room. It sits on the table and plugs into an ethernet socket. Once it has been plugged in and has activited itself, you can dial and do your conversation.
Kathleen, Pegg, Eileen, Karen and some JFI faculty know where the phone is kept. Labels on the phone remind you to return it after your conference call.
Look here for Cisco's pages about this phone (until they move them :) ).
Briefly, to use the phone you just plug it into a live ethernet port in the JFI. No additional power cord is needed. Colored lights light up on the phone, first whitish, then red. The LCD screen shows a CISCO logo. Be patient. After a minute or two, the red lights go off and the LCD screen shows a display like the other CISCO phones in the building. At this point you can use the panel to dial out. Remote users can dial in.
