- Parking: (for those driving to the meeting) There are two options for parking your car on campus. One is
the parking garage on 55th and Ellis; the other is the
hospital parking garage at 57th and Maryland. Both are within
a few blocks of the workshop site (Center for Integrative
Sciences, 930 E. 57th Street... shown in the map as a dotted
outline). Here is the University's parking website.
Street parking is possible north of 55th street if you don't
mind the walk; it is usually taken by 8:30...
- Public bus: U of C participants can reach the reception and opening session Thursday evening at the Hyatt Hotel easily by public CTA bus. Bus 4 goes directly from Cottage Grove and 57th to the hotel at 2233 S. Martin L. King Drive. The trip takes about 20 minutes. If you leave at 6:45 you should arrive about 7:05.

Earlier information for prospective participants
Scientists whose research is connected to the conference topic are encouraged to apply. We especially encourage scientists from industry. Attendance is by invitation. This includes on-campus participants. If you wish to participate, please write to our conference co-ordinator Dr. Eileen Sheu (focusing05 <esheu@uchicago.edu>). Please paste in the form below and fill in the information. Even if we have previously invited you, we ask you to send Dr. Sheu this form so that she can communicate with you reliably.

Attendance is limited to 70 participants. To allow maximum participation, we request that all invited participants confirm their participation by sending their travel itinerary to Dr. Sheu by October 10, 2005. We cannot assure a place for those who have not confirmed. Dr. Sheu will request this information in her email inviting you.
Registration fee
Invited participants are asked to pay a registration fee of $60 to cover part of the cost of refreshments. Dr. Sheu will explain how to pay in her email inviting you to participate. We've arranged a secure web site here if you wish to pay by credit card. (The site asks for identifying information so we can credit your payment properly.) Otherwise send a check in US funds to

Lodging
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. This hotel is a ten-minute ride from the University. Dr. Sheu will provide more information about booking a room in her invitation letter. If you'd like to arrange other lodging, this page from the McCormick Seminary may be helpful. Participants are responsible for their own lodging unless otherwise arranged.
