Novel phenomena arising from the collective behavior of many-body systems continue to define the boundary of condensed matter physics. In this seminar I will discuss how we can combine the synthesis of new materials and state-of-the-art nanofabrication to understand correlated electron systems, their magnetic or superconducting properties and in some cases, their potential for application as quantum technologies.
