Self-Assembly and Biophysical Properties of Actin Networks and Bundles:

To further our understanding of force transmission in the F-actin cytoskelton, we are developing methods to reconstitute F-actin bundles and networks in vitro to provide model systems to study force generation and contraction. We combine high resolution imaging and rheometric techniques to probe mechanics, forces and structure over a broad range of length scales.
